Since 1940, hand weavers around
Pittsburgh have joined company in the Weavers Guild of Pittsburgh to develop their  knowledge and technical skills and
to pass that information on to others.

This year the Guild was awarded a FiberHeart award from Handwoven Magazine, Interweave Press, for our
work to bring weaving to new weavers.

The Guild is a volunteer organization,
which offers lectures, and workshops in
fiber arts that include weaving, spinning
and dyeing to it's members and to the community.

Benefits include a monthly newsletter, schedules monthly meetings, an extensive library of weaving books and professional samples.  Beginning weaving workshops
are scheduled twice a year.

Check out the article in Handwoven Mag. September/October 2007 issue, page 28-29 for more information about the FiberHearts Award
