Dues

It's DUES TIME AGAIN and the basics remain the same…the Guild's gotta do what the Guild's gotta do. In order to schedule programs, field trips, speakers and other activities, we've gotta have the funds, so herein we make our case: just what have we done for you lately?
Take a look at the past year's programs and activities:

  • Guest speaker Sigrid Piroch, Jacquard weaving

  • Handmade papermaking with Arlene Sakmar

  • Swedish rep weave with Jeanette McCabe

  • Three weekends of weaving educational awareness at the Pittsburgh Children's Museum

  • Triangle and rectangle loom weaving with Carmen Osborne

  • Woven and fiber jewelry with Arlene Sakmar

  • Guest speaker Mathilda Murphy, textile history

  • Navajo weaving with Leslie Mitchell

  • Sample weaving sessions at Arlene Sakmar's studio

  • An awesome party at Laurie Charlton’s home

  • Rewriting of our outdated bylaws, restructuring of our Guild offices, revamping of

  • our fiscal year, and streamlining of our Web site to better reflect our current Guild.

…all captured in a colorful monthly newsletter compiled by your slightly twisted (or was that plied?), newsletter editor. All of this great stuff happened in 2009, in addition to opportunities to hobnob with other weavers and eyeball their creations during our monthly show-and-tell.

So what's it gonna be? We don't mean to incite guilt (well actually we do) but what the hey…mail your response form and dues check payable to Weavers Guild of Pittsburgh.

Please also state if you want to receive newsletters by email or USPS.
