2008 Weaver's Guild of Pittsburgh Meetings

The meetings start at 6:30pm with a social time.  The programs begin promptly at 7:00pm. 

Monday, January 28 - Traditional Weaving Techniques of Indigenous Andes Mountain Cultures

We will view a video that explores spinning, dyeing, weaving, scaffold warping edging.  Some textile examples will also be on hand.  Location:  Arlene Sakmar's Studio in Glenshaw.


Monday, February 25th - Weaving Workshop Begins

Create your own sample notebook of sample notebook filled with various weave structures that you will have woven.  Learn new patterns on various looms that will be set up for use. 

Monday, March 24th - Weaving Workshop Continued

Continuing work on the sample looms as we go farther toward understanding a draft and reading the  threading and treddling patterns.

If you have an idea for a program or would like to host a program at your home, contact one of
the Steering Committee Members.  We are looking for fall programs and hope you will offer suggestions and/or volunteer to host.
